Munnar is one of the well – known and well – recognized tourist destinations of the Kerala state. Undoubtedly, it is an ultimate destination for travel enthusiasts, honeymooners, leisure seekers, and adventurists. Munnar is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams i.e. Mudrapuzha, Nalathanni, and Kundala. It is 1600 m above sea level and one of the ultimate tourist destinations since the British era.
Munnar is famous for its tea plantation, Eravikulam national park, Chinnakanal and Anayirangal, Top station view point and a lot more. Also, it has the highest peak in South India i.e. Anamudi peak which towers over 2695 meters. This place houses everything right from hills, misty hills tops to forests, valleys to gardens, waterfalls, parks and rare flora and fauna. The visitors can visit this place in both winter and summer season as both the seasons have their own place and influence. If you are visiting in the winters then you should carry your woolen clothes and if you are visiting during summer then light woolens are pretty enough. Also, don’t miss to carry an umbrella as rain showers are quite common.
How to Reach
Munnar is well – connected by all means of transport and, therefore it can be easily accessed. One can reach this place either via Aluva railway station which is just 108 km from this place or from Cochin international airport which is located at a distance of almost 108 km via Aluva – Munnar road.
Here, the tourists can enjoy trekking, explore wide range of tea plantation, explore the beauty of pristine mountains, spend some time in the national park with animals and birds, and explore the rich collection of Tea museum.
Timings & Season
The best season to visit this place is from August to May as, during this time, the temperature is quite pleasant.
