Plakkathadam is a small village which is located 6 km away from Peermede, Idukki district. This place is one of the tourist destinations and well – known for trekking. It is an ideal location for those who love to explore the tribals of Kerala region. It is 35 KM from Thekkady and 40 KM from Kumily. Plakkathadam is also known for the tribal settlement. The Oorali, Malapandram, and Malayarayan tribes live in Peermede hills. The main tribal settlement of Peermede is Plakkathadam which is also known for its trekking trails. This is a good place for hanging out with family and friends and to explore the tribal history of this region.
