Thodikkulam Temple at Kannavam
Known for its mural paintings, Thodikkulam Temple is located 2 KM from Kannavam near Kannur district. There are nearly 150 mural paintings in the temple which form the point of attraction for the tourists.
It is believed that this temple is almost 2000 years old. Its sanctum sanctorum is rectangular in shape and constructed in two – storeys. The mural paintings of the temple are based on Shaivic and Vaishnavic themes that are myths related to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu respectively. Also, these paintings portray the rural life from 16th to 18th century.

The visitors can reach this place either from Thalassery railway station which is almost 28 KM away from this place or from Calicut international airport. This airport is around 71 KM from the temple. The local residents of Thalassery can take and private or hired vehicle such as jeep, car, taxi, cab etc.
