Phu Quoc and Con Dao travel: which one is better?

Phu Quoc and Con Dao are two famous islands in Vietnam and each one has its own beauty so it's hard for tourists to choose one to travel.

Weather

If you are planning to travel to the sea, weather is the most important factor. The weather in Phu Quoc is cool but you shouldn't visit Phu Quoc in May, June, October and November because it's very sunny and rains heavily at that time.

The best time to travel to Phu Quoc is from December to February when the weather is cool and the sea is calm.

The best time to travel to Con Dao is from February to May when the weather is fine and the sky is clear.

Transportation

To reach Phu Quoc Island from Hanoi, you can travel by airplane with Vietnam Airlines, Jestar or Vietjet.

If you depart from Rach Gia or Ha Tien, you can go by waterway to Phu Quoc.

Con Dao has a small airport, if you want to fly to Con Dao, you can only depart from Tan Son Nhat airport.
Cost of services

Cost of services in Con Dao is more expensive than any destination of Vietnam, that is why tourism in Con Dao is not very developed.

About accommodation: there are only dozens of hotels and one resort in Con Dao such as Con Dao Camping, Con Dao resort or luxury resort like Six Senses Hideaway… Unlike Con Dao, Phu Quoc has a large number of options for you, from motel to luxury resort like Hat Tieu Beach Resort, Long Beach, Mango Bay…

About food: Traveling to Con Dao and Phu Quoc, you can have the chance to enjoy seafood. However, if you visit Phu Quoc, you will experience a unique cuisine at the night market in Dong Duong town.

Beautiful beaches

If Phu Quoc is attractive with stretching beaches with sandy roads, Con Dao is beautiful with tough islands. Depending on personal taste, you can choose a suitable destination to visit.
