The Lodhi Garden houses tombs, mosques, and bridges from the era of Sayyid and Lodhi Periods. The tombs of Muhammad Shah and Sikandar Lodhi are octagonal in shape. Shish Gumbad and Bara Gumbad are square shaped tombs with an imposing dome, turrets on corners and facades. Hence, those give an illusion of being double story building.

Bada Gumbad or Big Dome lies in the mid zone of the garden, next to it is 3 domed masjid or mosque. Both this architecture were built during the reign of Sikander Lodi. In the central courtyard, you can see remains of a water tank. Shisha Gumbad or Glass Dome is situated opposite to Big Dome. It contains remains of an unknown family. The remains of the water course in the ground connect Yamuna River to the Tomb of Sikander Lodhi. The Athpula ("Eight Piered") Bridge erected during the periods of Akbar is situated nearby Sikandar's Tomb.

Mohammed Shah was the last ruler of Sayyid dynasty. In 1444, Ala-ud-din Alam Shah built his tomb here as a tribute. It's octagonal in shape, with numerous ornamental Hindu-style chhatris around the central dome, numerous arches, verandahs and sloping buttresses.
