Mangalavanam is a bird sanctuary which is located in the God's own country, Kochi. It is a nesting ground for a variety of birds and often regarded as the green lung of Kochi. It is ecologically sensitive area and keeps a check on city's air pollution. It is located in the heart of Kochi and still offers a calm and pleasant environment to its visitors. Undoubtedly, this place is the paradise for the bird lovers as they can find a variety of migratory birds here. It is spread over about 2.7 hectares of land and also houses shallow tidal lake connected to the Kochi backwaters.
