History

The history of the state of Tamil Nadu goes back to more than 2000 years witnessing the rise and fall of glorious dynasties like the Cholas, Pallavas Cheras, and Pandyan. Each of the dynasties had their contribution in enriching the culture of the land with their own skills of creativity, customs, architecture and culture of music, dance and literature.

The most interesting part of its history is that the state had its continual existence since the early Upper Paleolithic age to the modern times and except for some relatively short periods of time, the region has been capable of maintaining its independence from external political forces.
