Located in Taliparamba, Trichambaram Temple is one of the holy shrines in Kannur district. This temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and is situated nearly 20 KM away from Kannur.
There is no documentary proof available which can depict the original date of its construction but it is believed that this temple was present in the 11th century. Inside the main temple, there is a Bhagvathy shrine faces Lord Krishna with lotus in her hand. This temple is among the best temples in Kerala region. This temple is the small one with two – storeys sanctum and four projecting gables on a pyramidal roof.
Travel Tips
This is one of the prolific tourist destinations to visit and an ideal location for the pilgrims and devotees. The tourists can enjoy the annual temple festival which generally falls in the month of March every year. The conspicuous absence of elephants in the festival makes it different from other temples of Kerala. The elephants are strictly not allowed in the temple.
How to Reach
This temple can be reached either from Kannur railway station (22 KM away from the temple) or from Calicut international airport (138 KM away from the temple). Private vehicles can be hired from the nearby town to reach this place.

Timings & Season
Trichambaram Temple remains open from 5:00 am to 12:00 noon and then from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on all weekdays. The temple remains generally open all round the year but the best time to visit this holy shrine is the month of March.
