Picnic Village is one of the famous tourist Places in Kollam and is located two kilometers away from Kollam town having the backwater frontage.
Picnic Village is located at Ashramam, two kilometers away from Kollam town having the backwater frontage.The main attraction of the village is a 200-year-old Government Guest House which is famed for its elegance and architectural beauty. Along with this old Government guest house, an adventure park, a tourist boat club, a children's traffic park and a Yatri Nivas is run by Kerala Tourism Development Corporation and offers accommodation to the tourists at an affordable price.

Picnic Village is the best destination to spend some quality time with your loved ones. There are many types of boats, which include luxury cruise boats, power and motor boats which can be hired from the jetty close to the adventure Park. The District Tourism Promotion Council offers regular backwater cruises in houseboats and motor boats from the boat club.
How to Reach
One can easily reach Picnic Village by rail or airways. If you love to travel by train then Kollam Junction is the nearest one which is approximately 3 KM away from the village. The Thiruvananthapuram International Airport is the nearest airport which approximately about 75 KM from this stunning place.
Activities
Here, the visitors can enjoy in the Children's traffic park and the adventure park which will provide them a refreshing experience. Both the parks are designed by NATPAC. Along with this, there are many nearby regions to be explored by the tourists such as Velankanni Matha Shrine, Chamayavilakku, Craft Festival, Kollam Pooram, Ochirakkali, Mahatma Gandhi Beach etc.
Timings & Season
This place is open throughout the year and can be visited anytime but still if you prefer the best time then you should make your plan from November to April. The picnic village is open on all days from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm.
