Summer is severely hot and Winter is mildly cold in Madhya Pradesh. So if you are planning to travel in summer you need to take preferably light cotton clothes with ample stock of drinking water as the climate there has the tendency to dehydrate. In winter the state is pleasant and comfortable. You can carry light woolen clothes to feel cozy in those seasons.
Madhya Pradesh is still a conservative place, so it is better to take extra measures to keep the women safe. History

There are a number of Isolated remains of Homo erectus that are found in Hathnora near the Narmada Valley in Madhya Pradesh indicate its existence since the Middle Pleistocene era. The Painted pottery dated back to the later mesolithic period in the Bhimbetka rock shelters. The Chalcolithic sites refers to the Kayatha culture dating around 2100–1800 BCE and the Malwa culture dated 1700–1500 BCE in the western part of the state.

The city of Ujjain became a major centre, when the second wave of Indian urbanization took place in the sixth century BCE, as the capital of the Avanti kingdom. Other kingdoms that got mentioned in the epics are, Malava, Dasarna, Karusha, and Nishada.

In 1857 uprising during the British Rule, the region was led by prominent leaders like Tantia Tope. After Independence in 1956, Vindhya Pradesh, Madhya Bharat and Bhopal got merged into the unified state of Madhya Pradesh.
