Holidays suggestion for travelers from Delhi

As winter is approaching in 3 months, the state of Rajasthan is getting ready to welcome travellers from all over the world, but mostly from New Delhi. And thus, in my 1st thread at IndianTravelBlog, I want to share some destination details of places to see in Rajasthan from New Delhi.

So, whether you are from Delhi or reaching Delhi from any other part of the world, a tour of Rajasthan starts from India's capital. As the closest international airport from Rajasthan is New Delhi international airport.

So, when you land in Delhi, you must visit sites like India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Rajghat, Humayun Tomb and Qutub Minar. There are more than ten must-see points in Delhi and you can check our Santram Holidays Delhi Sightseeing package for more details on sites name and cost of this tour.

After spending 24 to 48 hours in Delhi, you must plan a road trip to Agra. You can also catch many trains available from Delhi to Agra, but I will suggest hiring a cab for your whole holiday as you would be able to see some amazing on route sites. So before reaching Agra, you can stop and visit Mathura and Vrindavan Temples.

Then at Agra, you must visit Taj Mahal, Akbar tomb, Agra fort and Fatehpur Sikri, which is 50 km from Agra city. I would suggest seeing first three sites on 1st day in Agra and then leave the town on day 2, visit Fatehpur Sikri and straight drive to Jaipur. On route, you can visit Mehandipur Balaji temple and Chand Baori stepwell.

From Delhi , you can either hire a car or tempo traveler for this Rajasthan tour. Have a look at this page for more details on tempo traveler in Delhi.

From Agra, you will reach Jaipur, which is famous for it's Amber Fort, Jaigarh Nahargarh Fort, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, and many other fantastic tourist sites and colorful markets. You need two full days to explore the Pick City Jaipur.

Then from Jaipur, drive for Jodhpur, along with on route stop at Ajmer and Pushkar. At Jodhpur, you should spend one day and visit Mehrangarh Fort and Umaid Bhawan Palace. Also, try the Rajasthani thali at Gypsy restaurant.

From Jodhpur, you should drive to the golden city of India, Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer is famous for it;s Golden Fort, heritage havelis and the dunes of Sam and Khuri. For more details on Jaisalmer tour package from New Delhi, check Santram Holidays Jaisalmer Holiday tour itinerary.
