The author has given a fairly detailed description, stating that the Jagdish temple, formerly known as the temple of Jagannath Rai, is a major part of the City Palace in Udaipur. The temple is believed to be dedicated to Lord Vishnu of Hinduism and is considered the largest temple in the city. Its special feature is that it represents the Indo-Aryan architectural style. The four-handed Vishnu statue enshrined in this temple is made of black stone. It is a three-story structure with magnificently carved pillars, painted walls. There are 50 pillars on the first and second floors. Statues of musicians and dancers along with elephants and riders can be found at the height of the top of the temple. This is the image of a Garuda guarding the gate of Lord Vishnu. Four other shrines are located near Jagdish Temple, dedicated to Sun God, Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva, and Goddess Shakti.
