    Which are the best houseboat operators in Kochi?


    Are you looking for houseboats in Kochi? Follow this thread to learn more about the houseboat options in Cochin.



    I am coming with family to Kerala for our Christmas vacation. We have heard of Kerala houseboats a lot and would like to go on a day cruise in Cochin. Many tour operators advise us to go to Alappuzha for houseboats but we prefer Houseboats in Kochi. Is there any reason houseboat cruises are not recommended in the backwaters of Kochi? Can you connect me with any tour operators where we can book houseboats in Cochin?

    Houseboat cruise in Kochi


    Alappuzha and Kumarakom are the best places for Houseboats. The only reason most people don't go for a houseboats in Kochi is, there are no houseboats there. There are plenty of backwaters in Kochi but all operators have chosen to be in Alappuzha and Kumarakom since there are beautiful canals and routs where they can take long cruises and also offer comfortable overnight stay.

    Sometime back, some operators introduced some houseboats in Kochi backwaters but that didn't last long due to lack of interests from tourists. If you search in Google, you might find some offers but I don't think any of them really exist. Some of the resorts seem to have some small version of the houseboats in Kochi, but they are not the real houseboats that we see in other places like Alappuzha and Kumarakom.
