    Houseboat cruise from Alappuzha to Kochi

    Are there any houseboat routes from Alappuzha to Kochi? We are planning a house boat cruise next month in Kerala and like to explore the route from Alappuzha to Kochi. I know there are backwaters connecting Alappuzha to Kochi. Is it possible to have a house boat or regular boat cruise in this route?

    Please suggest the best houseboat operators in this area who I can trust. I am more concerned about safety, comfort and facilities than the rates. So, please suggest accordingly.

    You are right, there are backwaters connecting Alappuzha and Kochi. However, it is not a popular houseboat route. I asked one of the tour operators and they said Kochi backwaters is not really a scenic route that tourists would enjoy. On the other hand, Alappuzha has a lot of beautiful backwaters and canals that everyone would enjoy. That's probably the reason the houseboat operators prefer Alappuzha - Kumarakom route and avoid the cruises to Kochi.
