Jaipur-Ajmer-Pushkar - by bus or taxi - which is better?

Hi guys,

I will be reaching Jaipur by 10'o clock in the morning, and then I would be proceeding towards Ajmer, from there I want to catch the train for Udaipur. Will that work out? Is it better to use public transport bus or hire a taxi? How much it will cost for a taxi in this route?

I guess it's good to travel via road from Ajmer to Udaipur, it will be approx four hour drive via NH8 to reach Udaipur whereas train will take more than 5 hours to reach Udaipur. Travelling via road is always a fun for me so I always prefer to travel via road whenever possible. Rest depends on your choice and budget as it will be costlier to travel via road then train. One more suggestion please check the train timings once again as in my opinion there is no train of 3:55 from Ajmer to Udaipur.

From Jaipur - Ajmer you can avail services of Train as it is approximate more than 150 kms distance and bus service also good as Jaipur - Ajmer highway is a good six lane highway.

From Ajmer you can take bus to visit Pushkar and the distance is just 10-12 kms and also you can take Auto and he will charge Rs. 500-600 to and fro from Ajmer - Pushkar - Ajmer. I prefer auto as the bus service can be less during late night return to Ajmer from Pushkar.

hello everyone,
I think you have to hire a taxi,because there is less frequency of bus. it's around 262 km from ajmer to udaipur.
So taxi is the best option.

if you take local taxi then it will cost depending on their meter reading.also there are other taxi provider like TravelOCar,Ola,Uber etc.you also try this.

If cost is not an issue then definitely car is best option to reach Pushkar as it will save much time & hassle. The Else train is best option to reach Pushkar.

It solely depends on you i have visited jaipur from delhi in a roadways bus though they take an hour break in between the journey but that is a different level of fun, via car is also great road trip to go to rajasthan till puskar and back.

That solely depends on you Car will provide you the roadtrip experience of lifetime on which you drive almost 1000 km in 3 days.
Via bus is also adventure to ride on i myself visited jaipur once via roadways bus and believe me it was a thrilling experience 😜
