Dudhsagar Waterfalls in Goa - One of the greatest Waterfalls


Dudhsagar waterfalls in located in the western ghats of the state of Goa and is a part of the Goa Ecowater system. About Dudhsagar Waterfalls


Dudhsagar Waterfalls is the 5th tallest waterfalls which is about 310 meters tall and falls in a 4 tier system. This Dudhsagar waterfalls is a treat to watch after the monsoons as it is located in the Mandovi River's watershed. The falls is mostly dry in summer but during the monsoon it transforms itself into one of the most powerful falls in the whole of India.

Dudhsagar means the sea of milk and the name had been derived due to the fact that the froth is formed due to the plummeting of the water from the great heights.The rocks around the area are very slippery and one has to be very careful while stepping there. Trekking and hiking are very popular in the area.

The falls is a natural phenomenon in the state of Goa and the falls plummets hundreds of feet in large volumes and it is a part of the Goa Eco system. The entire area around the falls is a very good picnic spot and well favoured by the locals as well as tourists.

How to Reach the waterfalls



You can see this waterfall while you travel by the Delhi Goa Express or Miraj castle Rock passenger as well as Pune Ernakulam Express. This waterfalls lies on the rail route of Londa to Margaon, part of Konkan railway. The waterfall is located at about 10kilometers from Kulem railway station. Dabolim Airport of Goa is located at about 5 kilometers from madgaon and the railway station at Madgaon is easier to reach through Railway and by road. Taxis and buses are available from the airport as well as the railway station.
Goa Tourism Development corporation are arranging for tours to Dudhsagar on Saturdays and sundays from panaji and Calangute.

Accommodations available at Dudhsagar waterfalls


There aren't many hotels or resorts near the waterfalls. It would be better for you to stay at Margao / Madgaon and then make a day trip to Dudhsagar waterfalls.
There is a forest rest house of KTDC near the falls.

Goa also have many other tourist attractions like Flea Market in Anjuna and other off the beaten path destinations.
