About Mobor Beach in Goa

Mobor Beach is one of the most popular and the happening beaches of Goa and has become one of the favourites of the tourists coming in to India. Mobor Beach is a small stretch of a beach, located on the south side of the Colva and the Cavelossim Beach. Mobor Beach was unheard of and was lesser known ones till the 80's. After that many resorts and hotels came up and now this is one of the beaches which have luxury hotels and resorts in Goa.

Recreational activities at Mobor

Specialties of the Mobor Beach is the fishing village and the lagoon. Cavelossim Mobor area is well known for the water adventure sports. There are many tourists and travellers who just come in to Mobor area to have a go at the water sports. You can find speed boat rides, water surfing, para sailing, jet skiing,banana and bump rides. Biking in the sands is another pass time of the tourists .

There is a small shopping stretch you can find in the beach, which sells, souvenirs, gifts, antiques and the Goan handicrafts to take home as the memorabilia.

There are many eateries and cafes which gives you a choice of taking whatever you feel like. It is really a thrilling and refreshing experience to sit under an umbrella, sipping a drink and watching others dancing or sailing or riding around you in the beach.


There are many Luxury hotels and resorts and are known for a vibrant night life. The Mobor Beach was a less known and an isolated one till the nineteen eighties till the Leela Beach resort and other luxury resorts started functioning here.

How to Reach the Mobor Beach

Dabolim is the nearest airport which is 68 kilometers from the beach. Karmali is the closest railway station . You can get taxis from the airport and the railway station to reach the beach. You can also reach Colva Beach first and then drive to Mobor Beach.

While in Goa, when travelling to visit beaches and forts and other tourist attractions, a better idea is to hire tourist cabs in Goa or be part of conducted tours that is organized by travel and tour operators.
