Cabo Raj Bhavan, Goa, it is an impressive construction, This stands on the entrance of river Zuari and Mandovi on the top a rock face in Tiswadi taluka. Around nine kilometers form Panajim, it lies on the peninsular tip of land near Dona Paula.

It was built in 1540, it was at first used to safeguard the Goa harbour. It took a long duration to build it and it was huge enough to accommodate whole fortress in it other than that what remains today of it are just 3 large cisterns.

Before the fort was raised a chapel of Blessed Virgin Mary was build along with. Later housed Governors of Goa and today also its the official residence of the Governor of Goa. One of the most pleasing to the eye Raj Bhavan's in India, prior arrangement is required to visit it.

There are few other forts in Goa like the Corjuem Fort alongside Mapusa river, Mormugao fort which guarded the Mormugao port, the fortress of Colvale in Bardez which were once crucial in protecting Goa.
