Chapel of St. Jerome at Chorao, Goa:

One of the old Chapels in Goa is Chapel of St. Jerome at Chorao, it is one of the first built church in Goa It is said that It is on the top of the hillocks in Madel, where the Chapel of St. Jerome is located.

This Chapel of St. Jerome has been built on an important soil with its access towards the South. It is a spherical structure with a drum & dome over it.
This Chapel of St. Jerome has a pillared verandah, around this church; the tiled roof of this verandah is slack and it is supported by stone pillars. The wall of the chapel church is plastered with lime and cement. There is a high stone platform in the northern end of this chapel.

This Chapel of St. Jerome has two small windows on the wall of this chapel. The old structure of this chapel is topped by a small tower, which in turn is capped by another small dome. It is generally believed that here initially stood a church, a convent and a seminary, all located at the foot of the hill and believed to have been constructed during the 16th century AD. It came into view that the chapel of St. Jerome is the only ancient chapel in Goa with a spherical plan.
