Itonda is a remote village in West Bengal known for its neel cultivation. John Chip in 1782 posted in Birbhum. The name of the village "Itonda" is also originated from the name East India Company. The village is just 19 km away from Bolpur Santiniketan. The temple here neglected for several years but now it is renovated by the Indian National Trust for Art and Culture Heritage (INTACH). You can see Jorbangla style of temple at Itonda. This is the last of this kind of temple in Birbhum. The decoration of the temple is mainly one type of "Teracota".
