History says that Reis Magos Church Goa was first built in around 1555 and it was under management of the Franciscans and was devoted to St. Jerome. Afterward, it became a main place for training to priests and it was also a discontinued for many of the early ruler.
Reis Magos Church Goa has an evidence that this church like many others was built at the nearby site of a temple by the Portuguese. Reis Magos Church outside frontage carries the royal Portuguese coat of arms. The small shrine near the foot of the stairs is dedicated to Our Lady of Hope.
