Are you planning to visit Nandi Hills near Bangalore? I have shared some useful tips for the visitors based on our recent visit experience to this beautiful hill station.

Bangalore to Nandi Hills is a scenic drive that Bengaluru people most often in weekends enjoy. Nandi Hills from Bangalore is around 65 kilometres only. This is one of the easily accessible Bangalore nearby Hill Stations.

Travel tips for Nandhi Hills Bangalore visit


  • Visit early and return before sunset. Sunset is a must watch experience there. If you are driving back after sunset, take extreme care in the steep roads and turnings.

  • Plan to spend a few hours at the top of the hill, relaxing in the lap of the mother nature. You will enjoy the park and beautiful view from the hill top.

  • There is only 1 restaurant at the top of the hill, which many people may not like. If you are very particular about clean eating place or want pure vegetarian food, you may want to carry food from outside.   • Do not keep food in your hand. Any food taken outside the car goes to the monkeys or stray dogs

  • The monkeys at Nandhi Hills Bangalore are very aggressive. They will grab any eatable they see, even from adults. Never leave the windows or doors of you car open. Monkeys will enter the car and damage the bags looking for food. Ice creams, soft drinks, packaged snacks etc are common targets of monkeys.

  • Watch small kids. There are steep areas on the edges of the top hill with no fences.

  • Don't forget to carry your camera. There are lot of scenic spots you don't want to miss.

  • If you can walk about 1 kilometer, you may park your car at the Nandi Hills parking station (bus stand, taxi stand) at a nominal fees and then walk the rest of the way. You can save some money on entrance fees and enjoy the natural beauty by walking up. If you are driving the car to the tip of the hills, you will park car at the top and then walk down almost all the way to see the Nandi hills park and scenic beauty. So, parking in the bus/taxi station and walking upwards is recommended.

  • If you have small kids or old people with you, then plan to drive to the tip of the hill by paying an entrance fees for the car.

  • You need to pay an entrance fees for the car to go beyond this point at Nandi Hills Bangalore. Two wheelers are not allowed beyond this point. So, Nandi Betta surely matches the expectation of a weekend hill station with its natural beauty and climate as well as the close proximity to Bengaluru city.
