Monsoon makes everything beautiful along with nature. We enjoy trekking in rainy season accompanied with amazing scenic beauty. Peak of the mountains and cloud seem hugging each other.
Currently I am staying in Nasik. I have experienced some of the treks with my husband in rainy season. As per my knowledge, following are the trekking places in Nasik:
We visited first three treks i.e. Brahmagiri, Anjaneri and Pandavleni caves. We allotted one day for one trek thus we spent 3 weekends for 3 treks.Brahmagiri
Brahmagiri hill located in Trambakeshwar village about 25 km from Nasik city. It is believed that Brahmagiri is a huge form of Lord Shankar and it is known with the name of Lord Brahma. Sacred Godavari River originated from here.
The famous Trambakeshwar temple is situated at foothill of Brahmagiri. This is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. You will get direct bus to reach there; you can drive your own vehicle too. Road connecting Nasik to Trambakeshwar is in good condition.
During monsoon and in the month of Shravan, this place witnesses the huge crowd of devotees and trekkers. Whole Trambakeshwar village and hills offer an amazing scenic beauty attracting people. While trekking take care of following points:
The path consists of the vertical and horizontal route. Steps are also available in between. While trekking towards the top of Brahmagiri hill, there are many beautiful views. Take a break and click on it. Usually one can reach on the top in less than 1 hour but it took more than 1 hour for us as we used to take a break frequently.
It's amazing to be on the peak of Brahmagiri. In the rainy season, you can see cloud meeting top of hill. There is a temple of Ganga Godavari from where Godavari river originated. At a distance, one more temple of Lord shiva present. There is an only stall of tea present. Here you can enjoy your cup of tea with rain showering on you. You have to adjust with the taste of tea.
Overall I loved Brahmagiri trekking and fully enjoyed, it was awesome. I suggest to go for trekking in a group of at least 10-15 people, you will enjoy more.Anjaneri
It is named after mother of Hanuman, Anjani. This is believed to be the birth place of Hanuman. It is Situated at Nasik - Trambakeshwar Road, few kilometers before Trambakeshwar temple. There is a temple dedicated to Hanuman at Anjaneri phata and this is the way which goes to Anjaneri village. Route to reach Anjaneri hill goes through this village. You can drive your vehicle till the base of Anjaneri hill, vehicle parking available here.
I found it easier trekking. I saw many people climbing with their children. There are few small waterfalls in between. At a point there is place to take a break where seats are made available for trekkers. One or two small stalls available on the way while climbing, they offer tea, biscuits and snacks.
Steps made up in between to ease the trekking. Finally we reached the top of Anjaneri. A small temple of Hanuman situated there. Blowing wind made us to shiver due to cold in rain. Here we witnessed wonderful beauty of nature. Greenery spread everywhere. It's fascinating view.
Pandavleni caves
Pandavleni caves rested on tableland on Trirashmi hill situated at Mumbai Agra road about 8 km from Nasik city. These caves are group of 24 Buddhists caves. Each cave provided a number from 1-24 and they are carved beautifully with sculptures and inscriptions. Some of the caves are outstanding. Budhha idol statue carved at many places in these caves. Shape of water tank given out of the rock. Buddhist monks used to stay, meet and hear sermons here.
This place is easily accessible. You will get direct bus or auto to reach here. Climbing is much easier as steps are formed from bottom to the top. Suggest to carry water bottle and some snacks with you. A minor entry fee of Rs.5 is being charged from visitors.
You can capture a nice view of Nasik city from top of the hill. As these caves are facing eastward direction therefore suggest visiting in the morning so that you can clearly see the carvings inside caves. We visited in rainy season and that too in the afternoon, till that time it was dark inside and we couldn't take nice pictures.

Above mentioned treks do not cost more. As per my experience I would like to suggest to go for trekking in a group, this is more safe and enjoyable as well. Do not forget to follow precaution measures while trekking.
