Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS) and Krishi Vijnan Kendras are jointly hosting the Wayanad Flower show since 2013 under the name "Pooppoli". This is a seasonal flower show conducted every year during the winter. The dates are announced a few months before the event. The 2016 flower show is scheduled to be conducted from Jan 20, 2016 to Feb 2 at the RARS Farmland in Ambalavayal.
The garden and the office of RARS are permanent establishments in their own property. You can visit the garden and the sales counter of Samrudhi Weekly Market any time of the year and purchase seeds, vegetables, agricultural tools etc.
The flowers for the show are grown in their own garden. Throughout the year, they plant garden plants and prepare the flowers ready for their show to be conducted in January.
You can find many sales counters in the show and buy various flowers, plants, seeds, agricultural machinery, fruits, squashed fruit jam etc. In the last year show, more than 200 stalls were present. More participation is expected in the upcoming event.
Amusement park - if you have kids who don't enjoy the flowers and agriculture, don't worry. They will have a small amusement park set up during the period of flower show.
