It is used by the British especially to exile political prisoners to keep them away from any freedom moment. Cellular Jail is declared as the National Memorial to pay the tribute to our great freedom fighters that raise their voices against the British rule. Some of the famous inmates of the Cellular jail were Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, Dr. Diwan Singh Kalepani, Bhai Parmanand, Yogendra Shukla, Batukeshwar Dutt and Maulana Ahmadullah who always raise their voice against the jail authorities for misbehaving the prisoners. Sir Hugh Rose Island is locally known as 'Chhota' Neil ('Small' Neil) is declared a wildlife sanctuary and is a turtle nesting ground but you need permission from the Deputy Range Officer, Forest Department at Neil Island to visit this island. Twin Islands are actually two islands Ross & Smith joined together by a sandbar to make a single group of islands. You can enjoy beautiful beaches and gem green water here. These islands are home to the Olive Ridley turtles so if you are lucky and be there at the right time then you can even witness the turtle nesting. Where to stay at Andaman & Nicobar Islands
There are much pocket-friendly to luxury resorts and hotels in Andaman. You can choose any of them according to your choice and budget. I prefer to stay in beach resorts as they offer private beach services and water sports activities. We stayed in Gold Star Beach Resort at Havelock Island and Tango at Neil Island both are good and pocket-friendly. Both resorts have owned beach and fairly good services within budget.
Well, no doubt Andaman Nicobar Islands is a landscape of scenic and picturesque . Is there is any entry formalities for Indian nationals?
