Sardarji Ka Dhaba: A fine north Indian restaurant in Ernakulam - Kochi area

I'm a foodie and I don't mind travelling any distance to get my favourite food. Tasting good food an important part of our vacation trips. Some times, we even adjust our itinerary according to the lunch and dinner choices we have in various places.

However, I usually stick with the same restaurant and same menu once I like it. In Kochi, our favourite restaurant is Alibaba and 41 Dishes and we rarely try any other restaurant. All of the waiters in Alibaba even know our regular orders and they don't even give us the menu cards these days. 
I have heard about Sardarji Ka Dhaba in Ernakulam many times but never tried it since everyone in the family prefer to go to Alibaba for our weekend outings. However, yesterday my wife said she is tired of going to the same restaurant again and again and she wanted to try something different. So, we decided to try a different restaurant this time and the one that came to mind was Sardarji Ka Dhaba, located next to Seematty in Ernakulam. 
We reached there by about 9pm and the roads were almost empty. However, the restaurant was still very crowded and parking was also tough due to the crowd. The security said they have separate parking behind the restaurant but we got some space in the front itself.
After a few minutes of waiting, we got our seat in the crowded restaurant. We tried Tandoori roti, Tandoori platter, Mutton Biriyani, Chicken Tikka and a few other things. Everything was very tasty. Overall quality of food was excellent. 
Every one of us liked the food. The Biriyani they serve looks very different from South Indian Biriyani and kids were hesitating to eat it on the first look but once they tasted it, they loved it. 
It is a very crowded place. So, if you are looking for a restaurant to sit, talk and relax, this may not be the best option. But if you are going for food and expect quality food, then Sardarji Ka Dhaba is an excellent place to go.
So, in addition to Alibaba and 41 dishes, we have one more restaurant on our shortlist. Alibaba is popular for its Chinese food while Sardarji Ka Dhaba is purely north Indian food including a lot of Tandoori items.
