Gol Gombaz covers an area of 18,225 square feet which is a biggest mega structure in the world. This tomb was built using dark grey basalt and decorations were made by Plasters. Walls of Gol Gombaz were astonishing with 2.7 meters thick and 30.5 meters height. Gol Gombaz contains big dome with diameter 44 meters. The unknown facts of Gol Gombaz are it contains circular basement which is as meek as the dome diameter. This circular basement is constructed to withstand the weight of the dome. Ibrahim Rauza is mausoleum built for Muhammad Adil Shah's father. This is another attraction in Bijapur. This is the 15th century monument of Islamic architecture. Ibrahim Rauza consists of two buildings with one common platform. The platform is surrounded by beautiful garden. History says that this building inspired Shah Jahan to construct Taj Mahal. Some of the architectural concepts of Ibrahim Rauza were included in Taj Mahal. Ibrahim Rauza were damaged by king Auragazeb but still this building is in strong condition. The left side building is constructed for the Ibrahim Adil Shah II and his family. This building is 24 feet high. This building was build by a huge mass of single rock. The architect of this building is Malik Sandal. Inside the building you can find the Quran writing written in Gold is still preserved. This building is located at the western hemisphere of Karnataka. Malik-e-Maidan: This place is known for the 55 tons weighed cannon. The head of the canon resembles like a head of lion. Some says that touching this cannon and making a wish will come true. This gun was made in 1549. This gun was bought to Bijapur with the help of ten elephants, four hundred oxen and hundreds of soldiers. This diameter of this gun is calculated as 1.5 meter and length as 8.5 meter. The sound of firing this gun may make us deaf so the soldiers dipped their head in water and fired this cannon.
