How to reach Aurangabad


Travel by road: This city is connected by roads with all the cities of Maharashtra. The best route to travel by road is the new Nagpur – Aurangabad – Mumbai Express Highway.

Travel by Air: Aurangabad Airport is the domestic airport, which has lots of connecting flights to major cities in India like Delhi, Mumbai etc.

Travel By rail: From Mumbai, one gets to travel by the Aurangabad Jan Shatabdi Express. Aurangabad is also connected to other cities like Delhi, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Pune and Bhopal via rail.

Places to visit in Aurangabad

Bibi Ka Maqbara: This is one of the major tourist attractions, a replica of Taj Mahal. Bibi Ka Maqbara was built by the prince Azam Shah in the memory of his mother.

Gates In Aurangabad: This city is very often, referred as the 'City of GATES' for its strong feel of arrival due to presence of these 52 gates all around the city. In spite of the presence of so many gates and the history attached to it, very few are aware about the fact that this city is known as the City of Gates.

Panchakki – This is a water mill, which was said to be built in the 18th century. This place is famous for its underground water channel. This water channel indirectly supplies power to the mill.

Ajanta Caves – These are the world famous Buddhist caves, which attract a lot of tourists. This is listed as one of the World Heritage site. The history of these caves goes back in centuries.

Ellora Caves: This too, one of the World Heritage Site is also famous for the cave temples and the well preserved wall paintings. The Ellora caves have around 34 caves and all these caves display amazing artifacts in the form of statues and idols that relate to the beliefs and religion of the people living in them.

Ghrishneshwar Temple: This temple has a great importance as it is one of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas of India. It is a well known and worshipped pilgrimage, visited by thousands of tourist every day.

Mhaismal – One of the tourist places in Aurangabad which is , located 25 km from the city. This place has a splendid scenic beauty.
