Camelot Hotel, Alappuzha - A Premium Hotel along the highway at Alappuzha
I recently visted the Camelot Hotel at Alappuzha. Overall, it is an excellent hotel, easily accessible from the national highway at Alappuzha, equally good for business, tourists as well as family visitors. Read my detailed review.
I recently visited Hotel Camelot at Alappuzha during my travel to attend a friend's engagement. We really enjoyed the time we spent there, including the lunch and dinner at their restaurant. Camelot is a fine business cum leisure hotel, located at Alappuzha. Let's take a detailed look at the facilities and ambiance of the hotel.
Safe and easily accessible location
I think one of the best selling points of Camelot is their accessibility. If you are travelling from Kochi to Alappuzha, you can never miss this beautiful hotel majestically standing along the National Highway 47, just 3 km before Alappuzha. Since it's along the national highway, it is easy to access any time of the day or night. If you are a tourist arriving at late night, you won't need to look around for someone to give you directions.

Some hotels are ideal for business travellers while many others are more suited for leisure stay. I recently reviewed Hotel PGS Vedanta, a business hotel in Kochi. But Camelot has a true mix of everything for all segments of travellers.

Business travellers usually look for easy accessibility, access to business needs like printing, fax, high-speed internet, conference rooms etc. Camelot has a small but convenient business center with computers, printer, fax, scanner etc. Also, there are multiple meeting and conference rooms for small and large meetings. They have a board room which can accommodate 15 to 20 people.Family and leisure
Camelot hotel is equally good for family and leisure stay. In my case, I would always prefer a hotel with a swimming pool since that's the best option for me to keep my kids occupied all day. They don't mind swimming in the pool and running around for hours. They have a very spacious and well-maintained swimming pool. They have a few indoor game options as well but not many.For tourists
If you are a tourist to Alappuzha and don't want to stay overnight in a houseboat, then Camelot Hotel is a convenient choice. All tourist attractions including the Houseboat boarding point, Alappuzha beach etc are a few minutes drive from Camelot.
Full service restaurant offers both traditional Kerala food as well as Chinese and north Indian dishes. If you are here for lunch, try the traditional Kerala meals in the balana leaves.Amenities

I checked multiple rooms in the hotel and they are all very spacious. There are deluxe rooms as well as Executive suite. I personally feel there is no need to go for an executive suite since the deluxe rooms themselves are spacious and luxurious. Every room as a 32" TV, minibar, electronic safe, high-speed Wi-Fi, coffee maker etc. Iron box is available on request.Ranthal restaurant
Camelot has a country style restaurant facing the highway, outside the main building. This is different from the full-service restaurant and coffee shop inside the hotel. At Ranthal, you can get traditional Kerala style food like Appam, Parotta and also Tandoori style items. We had Kerala style lunch in the restaurant inside and dinner at Ranthal while returning from the engagement function. Many local residents appear to be visiting Ranthal in the evenings for quick dinner. Also, since this is along the highway and the name itself is very attractive, a lot of cars are stopping by for food here. If you are driving through NH 47 in the evening, just pull over and try the food here. I'm sure you would love it.
Camelot Convention Centre
The Camelot convention centre located in the same property as the hotel is the biggest convention centre in the region. The large hall can accommodate really big functions like marriages with over 1,000 guests. The entire convention centre is well maintained and is equipped with all the facilities required for a large number of people gather for functions. The lobby area has ample seats for the guests to sit and relax before entering the main halls. Guests who need overnight stay can book a room in the hotel.Contact Information
