Parunthumpara has a huge a rock sculpture of about 150 ft (46 m) high and about 3,800 feet (1,200 m) above sea level. You will get a panoramic view of the entire Peermade region, which attracts hundreds of visitors every day. Due to the high elevation and tall cliffs, this place is a bit dangerous too. Many accidents have happened while young people trying to take selfies in the dangerous cliffs. 4. Valanjanganam Waterfalls near Kuttikkanam
Valanjanganam Waterfalls (also known as Ninnumullippara) is located along the highway in Thekkady - Alappuzha route, near Kuttikkanam. This is an interesting waterfall and is along the highway itself. It is a good viewpoint and picnic place as well. The waterfall is about 75 ft in height and is usually covered in mist. The place itself is about 3200 ft above sea level. Even though there is a danger board that says do not get into the water, a lot of people seem to be taking a quick bath in the crystal clear and cold water from the waterfall. A lot of people stand in the middle of the road to take photos, which is a bit dangerous since approaching vehicles may not notice the people standing in the middle of the road in the turning.
This is a hot spot for drivers to take a quick break and cool down the vehicles. A good place for hot tea and snacks, refresh yourself and proceed with your journey. 5. Baker Hills (Thrisangu Hills)
This is another viewpoint in Peermade - Kuttikkanam region. You will get a panoramic view of hills, valleys and tea gardens from here. 6. Panchalimedu
Panchalimedu is another interesting viewpoint along the route, near Kuttikkanam. According to legend, this place was one of the many hiding places of the Pandavas and Panchali. During the pilgrimage season in Sabarimala, devotees come here to watch the divine flame called "Makarajyothi", which can be seen from a pond here called Panchalikkulam.7. Artificial pine forest
A dense pine forest covering about 100 acres of land is located along the route from Thekkady to Alappuzha. After passing Kuttikkanam, watch on your left and you will see this beautiful pine forest. This is an interesting place to take photos. This is a favourite place of wedding photographers.
