With a lot of trees and about 3 acres of land, this small resort is an excellent place to relax and enjoy your vacation. Even though the property is located very close to the highway, be aware that the small road to the resort is very steep and some people may feel it bit uncomfortable to drive such steep road. Planet Green is another plantation resort in Wayanad where you can stay as close as possible to the nature. Most of the rooms here have an excellent view of the tall mountains in Wayanad. The surrounding plantation makes you feel like you are living in the woods. They have maintained the entire property very clean, hygiene and welcoming. If you look at the pricing, they are not very cheap but I still included in this list of best budget resorts in Wayanad since they are kind of upscale property in the mid-range pricing.

Wayanad Nature Resort is an upscale property at an affordable rate. Those who are looking for a budget resort in Wayanad at reasonable rates may look into this one. They do have excellent rating in TripAdvisor as well. Spread across about 1 acre land, this property has a small plantation around it. The entire property is very well maintained. They do have a multi-cuisine restaurant but traditional Kerala food is their speciality. The property is constructed as individual cottages, giving ample privacy for the guests. The property is located at about 25 km from Sultan Batery towards Mysore. If you are coming with a large group of friends or relatives, it is an excellent place to have a lot of fun. Be prepared to drive a bit of off-road to reach this place. You will get a beautiful view of paddy fields from some of the rooms.

It is really hard for us to choose one among the many good properties in Wayanad. Considering various factors, we have recommended "Pappy's Nest" as the best choice among the budget properties. However, be aware that everyone would have their own criteria and expectations from a vacation property. If you are looking for a star rated hotel type of accommodation, this is definitely not the choice for you. Pappy's is more like a plantation resort at an affordable cost, a paradise for nature lovers. But if you expect a well furnished hotel room, I would suggest you look for Vythiri resort (a premium resort in Wayanad) or Hotel Pepper Wayanad Gate, which is along the highway.
