Review of ibis Hotel, Ernakulam - A premium business hotel in Kochi

Sometime back I reviewed a business hotel in Kochi called "PGS Vedanta". Here, I am reviewing another premium business hotel in Ernakulam called "ibis Ernakulam". If you like to read my earlier review of PGS Vedanta, check it out now.
Today, I am attending an event at ibis Hotel on MG Road, in the heart of Kochi. It's a fairly new hotel with impressive facilities and ideal ambience for business travellers. I've noticed ibis Hotel every time I drive through MG Road but this is the first time I get an opportunity to visit the hotel and enjoy the facilities. Location of ibis Hotel
The best part of ibis Hotel is its location. Located at MG Road, very close to Banerji road, ibis is centrally located and is easily accessible from any part of Ernakulam - Kochi area. If you are in this part of Kerala to attend an event or conference, ibis is an ideal choice to stay. If you call Uber or any Taxi, just mention ibis @ MG Road and you will not need another landmark.
There are a lot of big brand shops in MG Road, including Seematti, Jayalakshmi Silks, Chennai silks etc, which are at walking distance from the hotel. Conference Rooms
I was at ibis Hotel in the morning for the official launch of OCCO India (Original Content Creators of India). The event was at the conference hall, which was very well maintained. They have 2 conference halls with 50 pax seats. Our hall had round tables with 6 seats per table and with comfortable seats. The audio system, projector and lighting were just adequate. If there is anything to complain, that is the shortage of power connections in the hall. IN our case, most people didn't need a power connection. I grabbed at a table near one of the few electric connections in the hall, so I didn't have a problem.
Ambience, Parking and Surroundings
ibis is pretty new and you can feel that everywhere. Well furnished reception and lobby area are very spacious and you won't feel congestion anywhere even if there are a lot of people around. Very clean lobby and common area give an impressive ambience all over.
There is ample parking space on the side of the hotel. There are separate gates for entry and exit. Food - a treat for your taste buds
Our meeting finished with lunch. The buffet lunch was one of the best buffets I have tried in Kochi. Did I tell you that I am a foodie and don't mind travelling 100km just for the food of our choice? We have tried most of the premium restaurants in Ernakulam and I can vouch that ibis has an excellent chef and awesome list of dishes. Their buffet lunch has a lot of choices including soups, chicken curry, fish curry, gobi Manchurian, fried rice, choices of salads, payasam, fresh appam and lot of desserts. The taste of the food was really good. Usually, in many restaurants, the buffet has relatively low-grade food made in bulk quantity. But at ibis, every item tasted like they are fresh made, except the "appam". Somehow, the appam in the fresh food counter didn't taste up to the expectation. 
If you are a food lover and want to try something different, then you have plenty of choices nearby, including Chinese, South Indian and North Indian restaurants. The chef at ibis is really an expert in his job. If you try the buffet lunch at ibis, you probably won't go anywhere in Kochi for food.
Facilities
Free WiFi is available for guests. Other facilities include a business centre, internet area, currency exchange, travel desk, fitness centre and a 24-hour front desk. The on-site multi-cuisine restaurant serves international and authentic regional delights. For the convenience of business travellers, the breakfast at ibis starts at 4AM.
Rooms
Since I was in ibis for an event, I didn't stay there overnight. I didn't get a chance to look at their rooms, but according to the various reviews I read online, they have very spacious bed rooms with wooden flooring. I would give a 5 out of 5 rating for ibis Hotel at Ernakulam based on my visit and experience at the hotel. I considered the cleanliness, response of the staff, overall facilities expected in a business hotel, food and other convenience including accessibility. I checked the reviews at various hotel booking websites and the aggregate reviews in those sites are also on the same lines. Google reviews show a rating of 4.4 out of 5 and TripAdvisor review shows an average rating of 4.5 out of 5. The hotel is ranked #33 out of 207 Kochi hotels listed in TripAdvisor.
