Despite what most people think, traveling on a low budget is definitely possible. It just takes a little extra planning, starting with your choice of where to go. There are plenty of low-cost destinations you can visit in India if money is tight, and you can always get an instant holiday loan in India for emergencies or last-minute travel plans!

Here are some of the best places in India to visit if you're on a limited budget:

1. Kasol - Himachal Pradesh is a budget traveler's dream come true, with cheap accommodation, delicious food and beautiful treks. Nestled in the Himalayan foothills, sleepy hamlet towns like Kasol are perfect for a weekend trip that won't break the bank.

2. McLeodganj - McLeodganj and its twin town Dharamsala are ideal destinations for those who love photography, nature and culture. Gorge on yummy Tibetan food, explore ancient monasteries and temples, or hike through stunning trails without spending much at all.

3. Pondicherry - If you prefer lazy beaches to lazy hills, Pondicherry is where you should go. The local culture, food, nightlife, art and architecture are all unforgettable, but the best part is that your wallet will not take a major hit when you visit this coastal town.

4. Kodaikanal - Located in Tamil Nadu, the 'Princess of Hill Stations' is a lovely choice if you want a break from city life. Spend the day relaxing by serene lakes, head into the hills or woods for a nature trek, or indulge in delicious food at super-cheap prices!

5. Darjeeling - This gorgeous hill station with its tea gardens and historical sites is one of the most popular tourist destinations in North-East India. Despite that, everything from stay and food to sightseeing and adventure activities is priced very economically.

6. Hampi - You must plan a trip to Hampi if ancient history and cultural heritage are your areas of interest. You can spend days exploring the ruins of centuries-old temples, palaces and monuments located all over this UNESCO World Heritage site, all within a budget.

7. Alleppey - With lush green paddy fields, tranquil backwaters, peaceful lagoons, and lazy beaches, the 'Venice of the East' is a must-visit for budget travel enthusiasts. Try to visit during the monsoon season, when you can see the spectacular Snake Boat races!

8. Jaisalmer - If you want to experience a taste of the royal life without the huge price tag, Jaisalmer is the destination to pick. The city is known for its affordable hospitality, historical forts and palaces, ancient temples, cultural activities and delicious Rajasthani cuisine.

9. Gokarna - This is another wonderful destination to consider if you're looking for clean beaches, beautiful old temples and untouched natural vistas. You can get world-class accommodation and facilities at many hotels in Gokarna, for less than you would expect!

10. Goa - You wouldn't think India's most popular destination is a budget travel option, but it can be. You can book home stays or beach shacks at extremely low rates, especially if you go off-season. Food, drink, nightlife and activities are all quite affordable too.

Every corner of India is filled with amazing destinations that are very affordable, especially if you travel outside of the tourist season or pick places that aren't well-known. Book tickets and accommodation early to save money, and take your time to find the best deals and discounts.
Apply for a travel loan if you want to explore new places and make bookings in advance. Don't let a lack of money put a halt to your travel plans!

Tony, you have mentioned really amazing places that are really beautiful and economical also. Here, I want to add Amritsar city of Punjab, a holy place for Sikh pligrims and a historical palace too. This city is famous for its spirituality, heritage, culture, and food. Even you have free food 'Langar' that is served in the Golden Temple. There are various attractions points that are not expensive. Some of these are Wagah-Attari border, Jallianwala Bagh, Partition Museum, Gobindgarh Fort, Akal Takht. So, with a small budget, you can travel to Amritsar.
