This temple is famous for its historical facts. This is the site where Lord Shiva married Goddess Parvati. And you can even find an eternal flame burning in the temple that is burning since that period. Inside the temple, there is a silver idol of Lord Vishnu. Other than this, there are idols of Lod Badrinarayan, Goddess Lakshmi, Goddess Sita, Lord Ramachandra, and Lord Kubera. There are four sacred ponds in the temple premises. The first one is the Rudra Kund for bathing, the second one is Vishnu Kund for cleansing, then Saraswati Kund for offering libations, and lastly Brahma Kund for sipping water.

It is believed that couples who get married here at the temple get the divine bond of seven births. That is why many couples across the nation visit here to get married in the Triyuginarayan temple.

How to reach

By Road

This temple is well-connected by a motorable road. People can reach here from Sonprayag (located at a distance of 12 km) through sharing cabs or private cabs. Sonprayag can be reached by daily buses that run from Haridwar, Rishikesh, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, and Guptakashi. If you do not want any stoppage/halts in the journey, you can take the bus from Haridwar and will drop you at Sonprayag. From Sonprayag, you will have to take sharing cab for Triyoginarayan. However, in the off-season i.e. when Char Dham yatra is not running, you may find difficulty in getting buses because the frequency of buses decreases due to fewer passengers. In that case, you may have to do break journeys like Haridwar-Rishikesh-Srinagar-Rudraprayag-Guptakashi-Sonprayag-Triyoginarayan.

By Train

Nearest railway station is Rishikesh (217 km) and Haridwar (237 km) from this temple. From these bus stands, you can get direct buses for Sonprayag. Also, railway line construction is going on to connect Rishikesh with other places like Srinagar, Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag. Hence, after the completion of this Char Dham project, reaching the Triyoginarayan temple would be quite feasible.

Nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport of Dehradun which is about 254 km from the temple. From Dehradun, you can either book a cab to Triyoginarayan temple. Another way is to come up to Haridwar by any transport and then board a bus for Sonprayag.
