Treeking to Choordhar Peak
It is the heighest peak of two district SOLAN and SIRMOUR. Its height is 12000 feet. It is located in Sirmour district. It is a holy peak. If you want to explore nature, you should come here atleast once in a lifetime. There is a small temple on the peak. It is a home of god SHIRGUL. It is the most sacred place for local people.
How to reach Choordhar Peak
You should come to SOLAN and then early in the morning take a bus to NAHURADHAR from SOLAN busstand. It is 70km from solan.It would take 2to3 hrs to reach nahuradhar.During your travelling to NAHURADHAR you will see many beutiful springs,forest,beutiful vilages.
On reaching here have your meal, take a bottle of water and other edibles with you .There is a big gate in nahurdhar from where you have to start a trekking. It is 18km long treeking. During treeking you have to cross a sanctury area. Choordhar Peak is one of the best places in India for photography.
It will take 7 to 8 hours to reach at the temple. You will see many snow covered peaks from there.
Facilities at the peak
There is a big 'dhermshala'of temple. Temple committee provide a free night stay. you only have to pay for blankets "3rs per blanket". Daily bhandara is organise by a temple twice in a day. Telephone facility is available there.You can't find any hotels here other than 5 to 7 tea shops.
Best time to visit Himachal Pradesh
April - November is seems to be the best time to visit this place. Don't forget to carry warm cloths with you.
