St Thomas Mount- Knowing the Unknown
In this article, I am going to introduce one of the unexplored travel destination in Palai, Kerala. The splendid view from the hilltop is just an amazing experience. The magical touch of nature from this hilltop really calms our mind.
While travelling, I found it is hard to express the hypnotic chants of the great hills. But this time mother nature had taken me to the land of absolute serenity. Come with me to hunt the profound mystery of nature.
Places like these cant found on the road map of our village. My grandmother used to tell me the stories of these hills when I was a child. At 77, whenever my grandmother reminiscent her memories it still smells like fresh art. The first sunrise, the promising eventual will happen in these hills. The aurora will invite the entire village into a new day. She travelled with her father in a cycle to watch the fluffy clouds drifted across the clear blue sky. Her memories blessed with the blow of wind. There was no brutality, no betrayal, no self-seeking, no war and also there was no jeopardising pandemic agent. The entire village lived in harmony and purity. Now on a late evening when I was going there my mind smells the calmness of the place. Trying to find the paths I had asked an old man to lead the way. The road was narrower and damaged. A whole group of trees are travelling with us. I can see small houses along the sides of the road. The old man enthusiastically decided to lead the way in the direction where the hills turned into heaven.
On the Uzhavoor – Pala road, after Kudakkachira, take the left deviation at Valavoor towards the place Chakkampuzha. Within 100 metres, there is a road that goes up to the left and that's what we want. This is a great road with steep climbs and sacred curves. After about 1.5 km, there will be a narrow road passing through the rubber plantations. We moved to the mildly "off-roading" and it gets narrower as we moved further. Finally, a small, concealed chapel-St Thomas Mount Chapel- and stunning view is just worth it. It is a splendid view from the church premises. For me, it was a sweet intriguing factor. I watched the captivating clouds and sunset from there which was magical. Birds were chirping, squirrels scabbling, insects humming, shoes scrapping over the paths of the hillside. Leaves skittering over the hard path. In peace and meditative cheerfulness I looked the nature for a long time.No vengeance and no hatred the heart must fill the truth of love.
I am jovial that I found paradise. I wanted to show the world about these vibrant shades of the green grass under the sky, the generous layer of meadow coated with the fire of twilight. What a beautiful nature from this hilltop. I wish everyone should feel the colour of nature from this place which makes the earth more amazing.
