Masinagudi is adjacent to mudumalai, the famous wildlife sanctuary which is famous for its elephant safaris. Mudumalai lies right to the Mysore – Ooty highway. There is a very scenic and not much used route left of the national highway from Mysore to Ooty. That road goes through Masinagudi. Scenic beauty and Wildlife in the Masinagudi road
There are two different landscapes that we come across while travelling from masinagudi to ooty. First we pass through the plain where on the both side there is forest. We come across wildlife animals every time we travel through this road unlike the national highway. I came across wild boar, deer, peacock, monkey, bison and Elephant during the day time. One can also find unexplored forests in this area. On travelling towards Ooty there would be Nilgris mountain range ahead and plain forest around. One would be mesmerized by the surrounding beauty. Also one can find deers crossing the roads without any inhibition.
While climbing the mountain range there are about thirty four hair pin bends and many view points. With a good driver the travel could be spectacular and adventurous. While climbing down or up the mountain range in the early morning one can see the clouds descend into masinagudi plains. When I saw that spectacular view I felt as though the heaven has descended down on earth. As the sun comes up the clouds slowly disappear. Nice way to spend early morning to view such a sight. There are tea shops aside too, Just park your vehicle have a early morning cup of tea or coffee and enjoy the sight.Resorts at Masinagudi
